Leave Yellowknife around 9:30 p.m. for a four-hour aurora chase with stops at three dark viewing points. Hotel and B&B pickup is included, but airport pickup is not.

“We had a successful night chasing lights. The lights were out early. Wilson was very pleasant. Its important to put on all your warm layers. Because we were in and out of the van, I thought I had enough on. But the night is cold and very quickly it felt very cold (was -39 or 40 with windchill). Cycling in and out of the van is a factor too. Lights typically come out between 11 and 2.. ours were out early (9:30) and so by 1am - the evening felt long and a bit tedious.”

Guides such as Wilson, Pei, Kim, and Sean have helped visitors with explanations and photos. The bus, hot drinks, cookies, and included pictures make this a practical choice on cold nights.

“Very friendly and knowledgable guide. We were able to see the lights even on a fully moonlit night. Great to have a warm van to retreat to when it got a little too cold. I really like how the photos are included - I’ve been on other tours where they try and upsell these for an extortionate price. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Yellowknife in the hope of seeing the lights. As long as the skies are clear, you should have a decent chance.”
